Friday Night Report: Much Like A (Happy) Illusion

Hi guys! I’m so hyped up with summer now, all thanks for Ajikan’s (ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION’s) new song in the NANO-MUGEN COMPILATION they do this year, called “All right part2”, along with Eriko from Chatmonchy, the vocals lah basically, to write the lyrics. This song IS GOOOOOOOD. It wasn’t much of first impression, but the PV really made me like the song to, that’s why this is gonna be the first record I’m gonna make in screenshots; I’m not joking, and I’m gonna show you guys (even though you can go watch it in YouTube)…

The song is somewhat life-related, but I duno the lyrics and it seems there’s English in it (besides “All right” lah) which I cannot decipher…Well not important.

The PV, is about some visual illusion, nevertheless done by some clever PV director, who just left some clues for you guys to see. From camera angles to look-alikes, they’ve got everything. Now let’s take a look...

It starts with the Guitar/Vocal/Composer Gotoh entering a room with his band inside showing some... pretty slice-of-life things, even though  it's not what they do everyday: (let the tags say the story) (and don't mind the words below, I didn't place that)
Gotoh walks in an empty background...
... and he sits down on a chair.
The drummer sits opposite him...
... and he walks off! Hey where did the Guitarist come from?
Hey who's this chick?
This is so... where did they find that magazine?
Reminds me of some dog...
Gotoh's singing alone...
... and he's singing to the mirror?
See the difference?
The lady takes the milk...
... was covered by the drummer pouring milk... (man that's the life)
... walks off...
... And another comes by almost instantly!
Anyone duno this is an illusion needs a mental checkup. Check the Guitarist's floppy shirt.
The Guitarist sees some angel...
... and gets taken away by her! Wow~
Even the Bassist got shocked!
(Until here you don't know this is an illusion... *smacks head*)
The Band itself, ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION.
An action Gotoh rarely does. Check in how many PVs he touches things...
Man two angels!
Look how synchronised they are!
Man two servants?
Notice anything different?
(Don't tell me no difference from the above pics)
This is the ”ノットがなりたい” kind of moment...
See? Just a black stripe of cloth and four Asians make a manuscript liao...
This is the "My Hand are Tired" moment...
Changing the scores YOUR way. Even Burger King cannot beat this.
It gets framed man... Is it for sale?
Some "In-the-frame" moments...
(See? One of the gals has a larger chest than the other! Not kidding!)
Now that you know it isn't one female in the PV...
More "In-the-frame"...
This is just extra...
Gotoh popped out to sing a word.
Random playing... like, random in seating.
Some playing around...
(Either you are seeing two or you're seeing one real and one fake)
More "In-the-frame" Gotoh...
This is just so nice... and confusing...
... nee?
Random seating...
One of the ladies close the door...
... and it's an empty background with Gotoh standing again.
Well there are also some things that are bothering me. Firstly, why no Eriko? Yeah the girls are obviously not the short and cute her, so why not include her in? Secondly, I can barely hear her in the song, why include her name in? Man this is kinda female discriminating… Sadly cannot use as GP evidence…
I think that’s all, the pictures are more than enough for you to ponder. And don’t tell me there’s not illusion, or how to do it, since the PV director sure has his way of doing things, and more than likely we can also guess it ourselves. Cya guys then, been waiting for the next PV, “441” by miwa. The audio preview sounds promising, but I’d like to see if she can make it to this blog… Haha…
